A Great Exposure Event for our Youth! On the morning of Saturday, March 26, 2022, BUFI Upward Bound Program along with a few LAMPS students will be boarding a bus and leaving BUFI at 7:15 am CDT.

TRIO Upward Bound works with low income, first generation, or academically disadvantaged high school students to help them develop the skills needed to become successful college students.

Training and certification to better oneself is a definite way to help improve self esteem as well as serve and develop the community. BUFI has been a location for community members to get certified and trained in many fields throughout the years including in First Aid and CPR. In 2019 many of the BUFI Safe Passage and Upward Bound staff received their certifications here, as did numerous community members who signed up and received the free training and certification taught by the American Red Cross.

Today we spotlight the dedication of our TRIO BUFI Upward Bound Program students and their commitment toward further success. Here are our students attending the National College Fair in 2019 where they asked relevant questions and communicated directly with recruiters and admission personnel. Throwback Thursday: in 2018 our BUFI Upward Bound students went on a trip to the Willis Tower's Skydeck and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Money Museum. Willis Tower, which is one of Chicago's biggest landmarks having held the title for the world's tallest building for years. This financial and architectural exposure event was enlightening, educational and a lot of fun.
