Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund
In response to the national crisis brought on by Hurricane Katrina, the Black United Fund of Illinois,
Inc. (BUFI), a 501 (c) (3) organization created to serve African American communities through self-help
initiatives, has established the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund to raise funds in support of
victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund will be granted to Illinois agencies to help hurricane victims
who have migrated to Illinois from the hard-hit Louisiana , Mississippi and Alabama areas meet
long-term human needs - food, shelter, health care and other necessities, and to help relocate
and provide support services for victims
Contributions are being accepted. Every dollar collected will go directly to help relocate and
provide support services for relief victims.
